My Latest Projects
From engineering precise hardware solutions to building intelligent software systems, my portfolio spans a wide range of disciplines. Whether I’m designing custom electronics, automating workflows, configuring homelab infrastructure, or crafting interactive experiences, each project reflects a hands‑on approach and a curiosity for how things work. Below is a selection of recent explorations — from 3D printing tools to neural network servers, datacenter automation, design and game development.

// Experience
Work Experience
Jobs don’t define all of my experience — many of my most valuable projects grew out of hobby work and personal curiosity. However, here are my official roles listed below.
Iris photography business
2025-now
Started an iris photography business, invented a custom photo flash, designed the studio interior, and coded website features including a gift certificate system and appointment system; the business has great online reviews with a 5-star rating.
Head of Machine Learning department
2024-2025
Head of Machine Learning at Targem Games, responsible for building and setting up the ML server, developing local LLM products for internal workers, and conducting experiments in machine learning including Stable Diffusion for image generation and manipulation.
Game Designer
2019-2025
Game designer at Targem Games, serving as Head of Development for Star Conflict while also contributing to other projects. Responsible for designing numerous features and writing LUA scripts as a game designer, along with auxiliary scripts in Python and Bash.
System Administrator
2017-2019
Maintenance and repair of PCs and other electronic devices, installation of structured cabling systems, installation, and writing of auxiliary software (bash, bat, python)

Client Reviews
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work with great clients across IT, invention development, and game design. Here’s what some of them had to say about working with me.
Alexey worked with us for over two years and made a tremendous contribution to the technological development of our iris macro-photography studios. During our collaboration, he spearheaded such projects as: the development and engineering of the Macrolight smart headrest-flash system, the from-scratch design of an online gift certificate purchasing system, and the architecture of an online booking system based on EasyAppointments. All projects developed by Alexey are actively used by hundreds of people on a daily basis; they operate stably, are easy to maintain, and provide a seamless user experience. All work was completed on schedule and was accompanied by exhaustive documentation. Third-party developers who worked on these projects spoke of Alexey’s work in exclusively positive terms. At this point, we cannot imagine our operations without these projects; they have significantly streamlined all workflows and made them considerably more efficient. The Macrolook team highly recommends Alexey as a versatile specialist who knows exactly what he is doing.

Vladimir Anikin
Businessman
I worked with Alexey on the Star Conflict project, and we also collaborated on prototyping another project. Alexey is an outstanding mathematician and is an expert at Lua scripting. He possesses strong systems thinking and excels at designing complex systems—ranging from physics-based controls to open-world environments. He is an out-of-the-box thinker who can devise and select the most simple and elegant solutions for any challenge. Alexey has a unique expertise in AI and neural networks, with the ability to handle the entire pipeline from the ground up: from server setup to training models.

Coming from game design, I learned that the best ideas don’t follow a spec sheet. Now as an inventor, that same rule applies. This blog is my lab notebook — part code, part cardboard prototype, part “what if I just tried this.”
